My credit counsling company changed my payment date w/out telling me
What can I do?

It was on the 11th, close enough to pay dates where I could make the payements even if I had to use my overdraft protection.

But they moved the date to the 6th, which was why OD protection get used up and had 4 checks bounce - and the last I checked, there's still a balance in my OD protection account, and that shocked me because I thought I paid it off! This means, on Monday when they attempt to cash in, it's not going to go through and I get assessed a $50 fee - whether or not I can tell the bank to not authorize the payment.

Now as I am going to be declaring bankruptcy, this is probably a moot point. But they changed the date which caused these events to occur. Even if they had told me in advance, there would have been nothing I could have done.

I need to ask them why they changed the date...

But, piffle, reality is a pain.

1. Yes, I'd certainly start with asking them why they changed the date.
Call them immediately to see if they can delay the resubmission of the checks until a date that works for you.

CCCS services are usually pretty consumer-friendly (I worked in credit for several years), so I'm surprised that they would do that without notifying you.

Some of the creditors and the bank may waive the check fees - it never hurts to ask.

4. Half and half
I called them this AM just to cancel explaining why but they said they couldn't do anything unless it were 10 days prior to the auto-withdrawl. If I had talked with a more lateral-minded person, something might have been done - I don't know. 10 days is a wide range though...

My CCCS was friendly, in terms of telling me they couldn't do anything right now - but would try next month. I won't get cynical right now.

The bank didn't waive the check fees. :-(

2. I had the same thing happen this week too!
When I looked back on previous payments, I thought it was supposed to be on the 5th of each month. Now they took out their payment on the 1st, I would have had the money by the time it was supposed to be paid, but now it put me in negative and the bank of course will take $30 more dollars that I don't have.

I'm going to look at my contract I signed with them to see what it says is the payment date and if it's different than the 1st I'm going to throw it back in their face and ask them to pay my NSF fee.

p.s. (I wonder if you use the same cc company as me...if you don't want to post the name of it you can PM me)

3. TCCF are the initials of the organization in question
They are situated, go figure, in Florida.

I like your idea though. I will check my records to see what the contract says. Anything I don't have to spend now can just go to the lawyer (It'll be about $1000 to declare bankruptcy).

5. That's the one I have too
I wonder if this happened to anyone else TCCF works with.
