3. About six inches here in Virginia
The wind here is FEROCIOUS. Gusts of 30-40 mph.

The snow's blowin' all OVER the place.

4. Hard to say---probably somewhere between 1 and 2 feet,
but the wind is a steady 30mph with much higher gusts, so the snow that's falling is horizontal.

The water in Narragansett Bay right now is what they call a "rolling sea", a term from the Beaufort scale---something you almost never see north of the Bay entrance.

That gale wind, and a 12 degree air temp., means that outdoor picnic plans will be on hold for the day.

5. We now have approximately 27 inches.
They're calling it a "winter hurricane" (whatever happened to the good old-fashioned nor'easter?) It's pretty neat--you should see the eye of the storm lying off the coast.

7. Picture From Reno

This is in Nevada where they don't normally get a TON of snow. This isn't up in the mountains. It's high elevation, but not the Sierras or anything. This is Reno.

8. Still snowing like a bastard out there
It's drifting pretty badly, so it's hard to say, but there's at least 16 inches on the rails of my back deck, and there's about 2 feet on the deck, so I'd say probably somewhere between those two figures. . .

Mmmmmm, hot chocolate w/ fluff. . .

Not meaning to rub it in, but

It has been quite a whle since our last "true" dumper of multiple feet.....stay warm and safe, my upper middle west and northeastern colleagues!

On edit, seems our Channel 9 news needs some spelling help!
