Movie that got great reviews that you hated.
For me it's "The Hours". I watched it for about 15 minutes and then it came down to the decision to either turn it off or kill myself.

I couldn't believe how achingly bad it was (to me). If you feel like you'll get flamed for saying that you hate a well-reviewed movie, put it on this thread.

"The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." I thought it was pretentious and a bit dull.

3. The English Patient
Goddamn, that movie sucked.

It's even more of a shame to me because Coming Through Slaughter by Michael Ondaatje (English Patient author) is one of the finest books ever written.

5. The Matrix
Everyone seems to love this movie that reminds me of the plot of a sci-fi story that a 2nd grader wrote. The special effects don't make up for it.

10. I agree.
I was bored by it, then got a headache trying to follow it, then decided that it just sucked so I should stop watching it.

9. Mystic River
I figured out whodunnit during the opening credits (and I generally don't try to figure it out before the characters do), there were plot holes big enough to drive a monster truck through, and actors I usually like were seriously chewing scenery.

This year the critics are raving about Million Dollar Baby, but I don't think I can ever trust them again when it comes to a Clint Eastwood movie.

12. And, I don't know if the reviews were great, but it's a classic
Gone With the Wind.

I hated Scarlett and didn't give a damn about Rhett. I'd always heard that it was so romantic, but I thought it was alternately boring and annoying.

13. "Meet the Parents"
If I ever meet Ben Stiller, I'm going to kick him in the nuts.

Also, "The Matrix" was crap.

14. Lord of the Rings
Overproduced, underedited and no narrative thread whatsoever. Good casting, though. Too bad Jackson didn't let the actors act, rather than just posing in whatever melodramatic cinemagraphic cliche he envisioned at that moment. Though even he couldn't ruin a great performance by Ian McKlellan.
