Edited on Sat Jan-22-05 12:56 PM by BrklynLiberal
It started about an hour ago and there is about 2 inches of snow out there already. It is really coming down hard...like a thick fog.

Here is the view from my kitchen window right now.

24. I bet your streets will get cleaned up faster than ours!
Hartford has no clue as to how to plow! Good luck! The kids have been packed off to their auntie's and we are just going to enjoy the snow, food and drink!

26. That is true for the main parts of the city, especially Manhattan. But I
live way out in the boondocks of Brooklyn, near Coney Island(naming a
place that is easily identifiable). They won't be plowing here until Monday morning cause the kids have to go to school. I will be locked in for the duration.

16. Yes, but the drifts in front of my house are 2' deep +.
and I'm hoping a good neighbor runs his snowblower down the sidewalk so I don't have to go shovel all of it myself.

5. Indy's got about 2 inches with a layer of ice underneath.
We went from 60 degrees, thunderstorms and flooding one day, to the teens and snow the next. Everything froze.

Spring is going to be a watery, muddy disaster around here.

No, seriously, based upon the stuff I shoveled from around my car, at LEAST 10 with 2-7 more on the way. (sigh) At least it's powdery and not the heavy stuff.

Evidently they have a good deepdish pizza that is only offered from 11:00 AM to 2:00 Pm on Weekdays. If I wanted to deal with tight hours like that I'd go to a fucking bank. Papa Del's for me, good pizza no bullshit.

36. 15" due - all plows diverted to the Link for the Big Game
or so they're implying - they actually have people working there overnight, keeping the snow moving.

You do NOT want Philadelphians to have snow-ball-making supplies at hand, win or lose. The last time snow was left in the stands, our former mayor (and current governor) who was a young DA at the time, starting throwing snowballs at the Dallas coach, and it led to someything of a riot.

So now snow removal is something of a priority at the stadium...

Every supermarket, everywhere is decorated with Eagles stutff.

There were huge lines in the supermarket- and it was as much people stocking up for the Eagles vs. Falcons as much as it was over a foot of snow

43. the "big snowstorm" turned out to be just a cold fart for Columbus ohio
they were calling for 8 inches and we got 2. The winds are supposed to pick up to 30mph later, so that will be nice.

If it's gonna snow, I want it to snow at least a foot and shut everything down. Ideally it should start snowing around 2 am on Sunday, then all day monday...then high winds that drift it across the road constantly so the plows can't keep up with it.
