21. Own it, played it once, shelved it.
BLeah is too good for that steaming pile of poop. The shoulda called it quits after the "Works" tour.

Actually, they shoulda called it quits after "Brain Salad Surgery". That was plenty.

3. Hey, I saw this!
In London. They were handing out tickets in the street just to fill the place. It was quite possibly one of the most distgusting things I've ever seen.

Long day, yesterday - watching * get annointed and everything. I missed the part where they sprinked his head with holy water, but I'm pretty sure that happened, too.

Oh well -- Back to work...

20. If by ego you mean 'drunk' then, "Yes (featuring Rick Wakeman)".
http://www.creemmagazine.com/BeatGoesOn/Yes/ChapterAndVersePt2.html

JEFFREY MORGAN: One of the big reasons why everyone could relate to you back then was because you were the only beer drinker in a band full of vegetarians.

RICK WAKEMAN: Yeah, the meat eater.

MORGAN: And then you stopped drinking.

WAKEMAN: I stopped in '85. Oh yeah, I was a good drinker. Y'see, I was always a mug full of beer and skittles man, down at the pub playin' darts. The only reason I stopped drinking was because they told me…I mean, I had cirrhosis of the liver and alcoholic hepatitis. And they said: You'll die. And I didn't really fancy the dying bit, so I stopped. I've got no objections to people who drink, and I still go down to the pub with my mates. Except I don't drink anymore.

26. Great line in there
"Rock 'n' roll is the devil's music!" Everyone knows that's not true. Country and western is the music of the devil. That's the real truth of the matter. My late Mother, bless her, loved country and western. God, I couldn't handle it.

Among other socioeconomic reasons.

It happened purely and specifically as a reaction to Rick Wakeman's Knights of King Arthur on Ice Live at Wembley.

23. True, that
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 01:25 PM by no name no slogan
IIRC Not only were John Lydon and Mick Jones present at that show, but so was a young Poly Styrene, Siouxie Sioux, Robert Gotobed and Ari Up. Howard DeVoto and Pete Shelley even drove down from Manchester for the event.

They were so revolted that they all went home and formed bands afterwards. Also, IIRC, the woman who played the horse later turned up as the drummer for the Slits. This is pure speculation of course.

30. Indeed, you are correct
In fact, I distinctly remember seeing VHS tapes of it for sale in a very dodgy looking stall in Camden Market in the early 90s. Of course, the tapes were the wrong zone for my American player so I didn't bother buying one.
