That's it, I'm going to the movies.
I can't take this anymore. I've boycotted cable news since 11/2, but now even the networks are covering this crap.

What should I see???

5. I want to see Hotel Rwanda soon
Anyone here seen it yet? Any thoughts? From what I've read, it seems like a very powerful, moving movie.

8. Thank you, I plan too
I know it's not about Darfur, but I hope it creates enough of an analogous (sp?) situation in those who see it to make us do something about it. IMO the genocide there has slid under the radar, and I wish we could do something to help.

3. Kinsey, The Aviator, A Very Long Engagement or Finding Neverland
All were up for Golden Globes, and all will have a presence at the Oscars.

"Kinsey" will remind you that people that there are good people out there who work daily to battle ignorance and fear through science, knowledge, and simple compassion.

"The Aviator" will remind you that even the richest and most powerful people in the world can be brought low by inner demons.

"A Very Long Engagement" will underline the futility and horror of war, and the importance of keeping faith.

"Finding Neverland" celebrates the human spirit and imagination, and will remind you that just one person seeing the world in a different way can, in fact, change it.

Go, and get popcorn with extra butter.

4. Life Aquatic
Because it'll be out of theaters any minute now, and it's one of the most imaginative, amazing, cinematic self-portraits I've seen since Bob Fosse laid out his whole life in "All That Jazz".

10. For a funny comedy, Meet The Fockers. For a good saga, The Aviator,

and if you want one for the spirit, Finding Neverland. :)

PS...if you would feel guilty about those endulgent pleasures, then definitely see Hotel Rwanda.

Ooops! A very honorable mention. A neat little film with John Travolta and Scarlett Johanssen .. A Love Song For Bobby Long
