DU musicians! The Guy James Show could use your "Left" over music!
In case you've been under a rock here is the show: http://www.theguyjamesshow.com/

We have a live webcast every Saturday afternoon from 3-6pm EST that needs some interesting music during the breaks.

Currently we've got some residual free instrumental music, that isn't all that bad (sort of a techno 70's lounge room lizard porn mix), but since we've got thousands of online listeners why not have some powerful political music looped?

Do you have a song, preferably with a political theme, that you think DU'ers (and thousands from other sites) would dig? Doe RATM mean anything to you or your sound? Maybe some fascist cracking rap? Perhaps some Lefty folk?

There may be length, topic and language issues, so don't get all pissy if your stuff doesn't fit this particular need!

6. a few MP3s..
of my band can be found here:http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/HolloH/
feel free to use any of them, although I think probably the only "political" one is our version of Concrete Blonde's "God is a Bullet". Let me know what you think!

As far as remakes go, the way the copyright attorneys explained it was, it's not an infringement if it's not used for profit... not sure if that's the case here, but, maybe?

(I just bookmarked your page, by the way.. will be checking it out in detail later today!)

12. What kind of length? Throw out some topics. Get some custom written stuff
I have the capability in terms of my computer to get mp3s uploaded

somehow(I would have to figure that out)

I'm sure others would be able to write/tailor recordings for your needs

13. We have a "machine" that switches from the show to the music.
So if the music is on "repeat" it doesn't matter what the length of the song is.

Any and all submissions are welcome right now.

14. Is there a maximum length?
That is, can you string songs together so you don't have the same song repeating over and over?

Just curious. Personally, I don't subject innocent people to the, um, sounds that I make on musical instruments. Homeland Security might come after me. :)

16. Not really. Variety though, that's what we'd like to do.
Several songs would give us some bounce over the breaks.

15. I've got a piece that you'd get a kick out of, but you couldn't use it
I took many, many word pronunciation sound files from the American Heritage Collegiate Dictionary at Bartleby.com and set them (some rearranged, such as the creation of "Hey GI me suckee-suckee") to space music of my own composition. Interesting, sometimes wildly funny, but you probably don't want to get into copyright infringement issues with dictionary publishers. File is a wav over 4 megs and a little under 2 minutes long; I'll see if I can figure out how to convert to mp3 if you're at all interested.
