So baseball season hasnt even started and I am already thinking
about giving up. Goddamn you Peter Angelos, you only got us two players this off season, Steve "Who are you" Kline and James "No, I am not the novelist" Baldwin.

14. Well, look at it this way
Every team has their bad years and you are young and have your whole life ahead of you.

You will see the O's be a winning team again and you will forget these bad years.

16. I know, its just damnit, I am sick of the yanks always making the playoffs
then Steinbrenner getting more and more. He gets what we got in Tejada at least once every season.

20. I am too.
And I live in upstate New York amoungst the yankee fans.

Steinbrenner should have been banned from MLB a long time ago, IMHO.

24. You know what John?
First, I've always been an Expos fan since I'm 2 hours away from Montreal and when the Blue Jays were in the World Series, I rooted for them.

Now the Expos are gone and I've come back to my original faves, the Red Sox.

Secondly, I've met Rhi and Nuxvomica in person last October... They are good folk - both. I have yet to meet LPFF.

Not every New Yorker is a yank's fan or even a Met's fan for that matter.

3. Do not insult Steve Kline
He is one of the best left-handed relief specialists in the game and will help your team nicely.

Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 06:47 PM by JohnKleeb
but we need starting pitching in Baltimore first and foremost. So with Kline, we might win 80 games instead of 78, sorry its just damn this team could be among the most competive but Angelos is a prick.

Kline's good, but yeah I can understand your frustration. Baltimore certainly does need more help, but you never know, this is Baseball anything can happen.

12. I just dont see anything
We got much the same cast we did last year and this staff bah had a 12 game losing streak, and a guy who beats up judges is our ace.

5. Kline's a good lefty reliever.
The Cardinals will miss him. He was injured in the postseason. They could have used him for sure. But, he flipped off LaRussa one night, so Tony ran him out of town on a rail.

Than a Division winner

Past three world series... Wild Card

Angels
Marlins
Red Soxs

23. So Delgado is a no-go there for sure?
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 07:07 PM by Mojambo
I was under the impression that Baltimore was still in that. He's really not pleased with the money NY is offering, I'd think that Baltimore could still have him if they went to 12 fmillion (No, I don't think he's worth that much.)

Baltimore's offseason puzzled me. I'm an admitted outsider, but it seemed that they spent an awful lot of time concentrating on hitting (Delgado, Sexson) and didn't pursue the FA pitching market very agressively at all. They did seem hot in the trade market, but struck out on both Hudson and Mulder. They needed a starter and they come away with James Baldwin? I think a strong case could be made that he is one of the 20 worst pitchers in the game.

I just wonder if Miguel Tejada might regret signing long term in Baltimore. They are a long away off in a division that is beyond stacked. I can't imagine that he has any hope for a playoff run during the remainder of that contract.

Tough days in Baltimore.

I thought they should have focused on pitching first and foremost honestly. Baldwin was yes signed to a minor league deal.

we have the exact same team as least year minus pavano and benitz, but with leider, tim jones and antonio alfonseca as additions. We are also a main candidate for getting delgado.

It just sucks when your team hasn't got to the playoffs since you were 10, yeah some complain about gettin beat in the playoffs but hey the yanks have made every playoff year since I was 8, 10 years ago.
