Guys, what's Miami like to live?
I have a job interview for this place in Miami. I've always wanted to live there, but wifeys a bit hesitant. We are coming from the Bay Area, and wondering how much our home would translate to as well...

Any ideas?

1. I moved to Miami from Philadelphia for a coupla years...
and found it exhilarating. Unfortunately I was there for Hurricane Andrew, but it just was so great living in a place with NO RED BRICK. :)

In the early 90s I could have gotten a killer place on Miami Beach for my house in Philly, except I knew I was moving back. I had a great time, Andrew notwithstanding.

2. Bugs, Humidity, Rain and Crime.
Thats how it was when I lived there in 1978-79.
The Cuban sandwiches are great though.

5. I can tell you all about Miami
The good: Great weather, plenty of diversity, great food, awesome nightlife, beautiful beaches and competitive sports teams.

The bad: Horrible traffic, high poverty, rude people, high crime (though not as bad as it used to be) and plenty of corruption.

It's a city of immigrants, so you can go to some neighborhoods and nobody speaks English. Other neighborhoods you won't have a problem in.

PM me if you have any other questions.

Your dollar will go far in Miami. But act now because property values are going through the roof and experts say they will eventually be like LA, SF or NY.
