I have a professor (of Anthropology) who is an expert on the modern slave trade and the problem is severe globally. It would behoove us democrats to not ignore (or worse, belittle) the problem for the sake of scoring political points against Bush (who can, and should, be scored against in nearly every other capacity in the political realm). As the richest nation in the world we are still primarily responsible for slavery of every kind, not only sexual.

2. There are more slaves today than at any time in history

This really isn't a subject that Dem's should be bashing. Modern slavery is a worldwide problem, with child slaves in southeast asia, sex slaves in Europe and the Balkans, black slavery continuing in Africa and the Middle East, Chinese immigrants enslaved in textile mills from California to Canada, and thousands of Central American's enslaved in the American ag sector.

Slavery is a very real, and very ignored, problem in our world.

was supposed to get the UN involved somehow with Iraq, and the
mess he has made
