Sirius or XM? Both Have Air America???
Should I get Sirius or XM? Do both have AAR on them?

Air America isn't the only thing I'm looking for, but I'd like to have it. If one has it but is not in the league with the other one, please tell me. Thanks in advance! :P

1. Sirius
Full AAR lineup, Howard Stern, and lots of special channels. Are you into college basketball or the NFL? I think they are on Sirius too.

2. First of all, Clear Channel DOES NOT RUN XM. Now, let's move on... :)
They don't even own a majority. 2% or less, and they're getting rid of it.

That being said, XM does not carry the full lineup of AAR. Sadly, they don't broadcast Mike Malloy, and they split Randi's show with Ed Schultz. However, if I really have a burning desire to hear them, I can download them later or listen to the stream online. It's my understanding that XM's playlists are generally far deeper that those of Sirius, which is more of a deal breaker for me.

6. I've heard the opposite about the playlist.
And I can say that I've been extremely happy with Sirius for nearly a year now.

10. I have both (my husband's car has Sirius, mine XM)
Music wise, XM is much better, particularly if you want to stray from typical radio fare. Sirius tends to stick mainly to hits on most of their channels. But, Sirius is better overall for talk radio, for all non-music content, really. Fans of sports or talk would likely get more from Sirius.

9. Does XM...
Does XM broadcast "Lionel" in place of Mike Malloy? That must be the same stream that is broadcast on the AAR AM station here.

I can't stand Lionel, or Schultz, and I hate how he is in place of Malloy..

4. Pick the one that has the Jones Network, too...
Jones has Ed Schultz, the leftie from high atop America's Heart Land in North Dakota. He's talks to those lefties (he doesn't really like the term "Progressive" ) who "shower after work."

5. Sirius is getting Howard Stern...
while XM is getting Dr. Laura and G. Gordon Liddy.

I chose Sirius because most reviews give it an edge on quality. The fact that XM is partially owned by Clear Channel did help sway me, though.

That said, I love Sirius. I had a 45 minute drive each way for work last year and found it to be essential for my sanity.

12. Sirius
Got it two weeks ago and can't believe I went this long without it. I think Karmazin will bring a lot more to them as well in the future.
