On one level I envy Khephra
He does not have to witness the destruction of four more years of Bush.

I'm not sure of what I believe happens when you die...but Da Free John said that when you die, you exist in the space of the thoughts you created while on earth.

I think Keph is proof of that.

I also think I need to think about something else for the next four years lest I alter my existance in perpetuity.

Bush will only be in office for four more years...he's not an actual dictator (even though he acts like one) After him, the world will change for the (obvious) better:)

7. I think I understand what she's trying to say.
If the afterlife is composed of your thoughts, then it's your own creation, and how make it and what you make it of is up to you. He's in a better place, and I for one believe that the love and positive energy being created here by those who knew him really are sending him on his way. And before we leave, we can all do the same thing for one another, and we should. Every chance we get.

Teena - may I call you Teena? - my thoughts this week were along the same line of yours, even before the sad and tragic loss of Khephra. Maybe the love you take really is equal to the love you make. Or maybe it's just New Year. Or SAD, as it feels like it's been raining for a month here in So Cal.

I'm rambling. More coffee.

Yesterday..everything that could go wrong did..then this...my heart just hurts...ramble all you want..and yeah...you heard me loud and clear on the opening post..it's funny but I never thought that a community of online people would become so important in my life but as I scroll through my cell phone numbers..fully half of them are Du'ers... I feel like I've lost a limb

2. I didn't know Khephra personally as you did...
but I knew him by his posts here, and this morning I have read so much about him from so many people who loved him. What a tragedy to lose his voice and his heart.

What a wonderful way to think about his passing, that he will surely exist here on DU as long as DU exists (as he himself put it).

Here's to you Keph, for having the qualities to make people who have never met you fall in love with you. You're one of the good ones, and I wish I had met you.

3. I don't envy anyone who's dead.
Life is a lot more than politics. I'm sure that those who survived under Pol Pot could tell you that life is far MORE precious when it's in real danger....we haven't hit that level under Bush (yet).

When my father was alive and healthy we'd often have discussions about what would happen were he ever to be hooked up to a life support system; he'd always say, "go ahead, please pull the plug....I don't ever want to be a vegetable."

When he actually WAS dying, his attitude was 'I don't care how much money it takes or what condition I'm in, KEEP ME ALIVE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!"

4. NSMA, I keep hearing the song in my head:
I am the eye in the sky.... when I think of Kheph. I hope he can watch over things and has a better view from his new perspective.

And strength to his family.

Sometimes, I wonder if one becomes energy when the body wears out. The energy which was our core when incarnate, perhaps that is the place spirit will take us.

Create love. Can't go wrong with that.

5. Live every day!
Scott and I used to joke that we lived 3 miles from each other, knew alot of the same folks, but never got to hang out... "Yeah, we'll get to it..."

Scott was my best friend here at DU, getting ME thru a couple incidents in life...

I'm going to miss him every damn day...

6. I thought about that also
and I also wondered if the election didn't wear him out mentally.

God, I am going to miss that man.

8. The Force needed his energy
Spirit knows she's got a handful for the next 4 years, and who better to coordinate her internal communications and keep that proverbial eye on the Dark Lords than our own Kef ?

while I am having ugly thoughts about a few who got to and are getting to live long...who knows...maybe that's their punishment (did I really just say that?)

9. Concentrate on yourself and your personal happiness.....
I know long-distance relationships are hard, but once you guys work out that kink, life will get much better. And if you're happy and content at home, the rest of it becomes less important and more manageable.
