I saw the most revolting thing on TV tonight
David Frum. What a revolting right-wing PNAC fascist nazi gasbag asshat. I mean Ewwwwwwww. :puke: Katrina van den Heuvel was being grilled by him and Tucker Carlson (what I said about Frum goes for him). I don't know how she could stand to be in the same room as him. I immediately freaked out and left the room, as I refuse to even look at them, just as I refuse to even look at or hear the pResident. Yet one more reason to hate TV.

1. He's a neo-con, and not even a US citizen
He's a Canadian. Call me a chauvinist, but I have kind of a problem with citizens from other countries being in such an influential position to shape American foreign policy. The framers of the Constitution would be mortified.

I've always wondered why you folks would tolerate that (outsiders wielding such political influence, etc.). My theory - a very simple one - is because he's a Repug. It seems to be OK with them as long as he's on "the team". Imagine, if you will, a Canuck having that much power behind a DEMOCRAT. They'd have a fucking field day.

The REAL mystery is his mother was a HUGELY respected pioneering liberal/feminist journalist for years at the CBC. (She died of leukemia in '92. Short bio if anyone's interested here http://www.cbc.ca/lifeandtimes/frum.html ) I mean she was ENORMOUSLY respected.

When he coined the phrase "axis of evil", our entire country collectively gasped: "Bab's is just gotta' be be rolling in her grave over this one". ("Bab's" is his mum. She was so popular we were all on a first name basis...)

Talk about the epitome of "evil spawn".

3. If that Cleveland lawyer can sue "Fear Factor" for making him sick....
I'd say you have a slam-dunk case.
(Remember long term psychological damages)

4. I saw it too.
Frum was irritating. He didn't seem to be able to control himself very well. He just couldn't let van den Heuvel finish her thought before jumping in.

As for Tucker Carlson? He showed himself to be a mental lightweight. He made a slip and indicated his belief people who don't make much money are lazy, ignorant, inferior, and deserve no help. He also showed that he has absolutely no idea of what its like to try to live on a very small income.

I don't suppose it would be too much to hope that PBS would take this opportunity to also fire him?

5. Sort of like when Linda Chavez was saying minimum wage hikes are bad
But couldn't give the current minimum wage when asked what it was.

These people are so far removed from the reality of working class citizens, they only know how to denigrate them and talk down to them as they would a subordinate.

7. I don't know if they really don't know that what they're
saying is demeaning or if they don't care. Either way, its still an insult.

6. yeah, he's awful

Always reminds me of the vile colonial residue and plutocracy that defines Toronto 'high society' on the one hand, and the way some people in Toronto's Jewish enclave still seem to mentally live in 16th century Poland- where some Jews were the frontmen and rent collectors for the oppressive nobility-, on the other.

Hey, he gets paid well for doing his part to keep the world ignorant, impoverished, and mentally enslaved by his corporation-running masters.
