You know I don't even know if he's old enough
to vote. I don't know how old he even is.
Or if he's an American actually, to be frank
and candid. I don't know if he's registered.
I don't know if he can write his name. He
obviously reads books with gusto and salt, so
one would imagine he can write if bark came
to bite. In olater-based conversations we have
had out on the veranda late at night, I gather
that he is a social liberal, but a little bit
conservative fiscally owing to the backwoods
influence of Uncle Leonard I suspect. I did once ask
Oscar what he thought of Bush. He twitched, stared
thoughtfully off into the lonely distance where
the lights of the cars wound through the darkened
foothills, and vomited over the balustrade.

I don't know what's more maddening: the story's invulnerability, or the fact that only one person so far has started demanding pictures (I'm about 2/3rds of the way through).
