Anyone else really like the Pixies?
The only disc I have is Trompe le Monde. Which other one should I get?

1. (Hand raised)
Dunno...each one has a diffent flavor.

I'd probably go with Doolittle as it has my favorite songs on it.

7. I concur -- Doolittle is an amazing album.
I love this album...the songs are great and Joey Santiago's guitar playing blows me away! It's funny because the first time I heard this album, I hated it.

4. One of my top ten of all time...
Get Dolittle and Bossanova first. If you like those , get Surfer Rosa and Come on Pilgrim. One of my favorites tho, is the B-sides disc where you'll find several of there songs about manta rays.

5. SURFER ROSA..
is such a great group of songs. It's wild and strange and still not dated. NOBODY was ever able to duplicate this band and their following is bigger than ever. Also check out "The Breeders", the bass player Kim Deal's band... really fun and interesting. If it weren't for the Pixies there would be no Nirvana, according to Kurt Cobain! I just saw The Pixies here in Dallas in October.. wonderful!!!! I saw them twice before they broke up twelve years ago and they haven't lost a step!
Okay, BUSTED!!!... I'm a PIXIES junkie!

8. I used to have the Breeders first disc
then I loaned it to someone and it never returned. Sigh...

Sounds like a lot of good ones I'll have to scout! Thanks everyone!

15. Supposedly "Smells Like Teen Spirit"...
Was Kurt Cobain's attempt at "writing a Pixie's song."

6. "Surfer Rosa" and "Doolittle"
they're both masterpieces! I'm from Boston so I got to see them quite a bit. Then they got popular and spent more time touring.

10. I love them.
I agree with the others - start with Doolittle and/or Surfer Rosa.

My user name used to be no. 13 baby. I changed it in a moment of irrationality and I regret it. :)
