Brian Wilson in Tsunami Appeal (loses bandmate in disaster) - NME
http://www.nme.com/news/110970.htm

BRIAN WILSON is appealing for information on the whereabouts of one of his band members who was holidaying in THAILAND when the Asian tsunami struck on December 26.

Markus Sandlund, a cellist from Stockholm Strings & Horns, appears on Wilson’s lost classic recreation ‘Smile’, which was released last year. He has not been heard from since shortly before the disaster hit on Boxing Day.

"I have been devastated since I heard the news that Markus is missing in Thailand," said Wilson. "We have sent an agent to see what we can find out, but as of today (January 4) we have been unable to locate Markus in the area. If there is anyone out there who might know Markus' whereabouts please contact info@brianwilson.com.

"My prayers go out to all of the victims and their families and I would ask you to say a prayer for Markus' safe return," he added.

Sandlund was celebrating Christmas on the island with his girlfriend Sofi. After being swept away during the disaster, she was later rescued and is recovering in hospital in Sweden, reports Billboard.

2. I'm as deeply saddened by this tragedy as anyone else.....
But there's a nagging question that I must ask.

Why is it, that so many young jet-setters were attracted to Thailand in particular? What is it about this particular area of the World that made it so appealing to well-to-do singles?

Just asking.

4. I think we both already know the answers, eh?
Why do so many people end up in Thai jails?

9. Shit - I didn't even mean that as a joke.
Apparently, Thai hash is extraordinary.
I probably should have used better discretion with the wording, there.

10. You can't help it.
You're funny without even trying, which is odd for a Scotsman.
