7. I agree
He lead the 49ers to the greatest point in there history. He was great. One of the best years the 9ers had recently was when Walsh helped the team as Offensive Assistant.

5. Losers
C'mon

If you know anything about football, professional football, it's either Paul Brown, George Halas, or Don Coryell.

Nuff' said.

6. I have to be honest, I know four coaches names
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 07:55 PM by Rabrrrrrr
The great one - Vince.

And then the lesser but good ones: Landry and Holmgren.

And then that asshole shitiot Ditka.

Those are the only football coach names I know. Oh, wait, I just remembered Bart Starr was a useless coach as well.

And as much of a Packers fan as I am, I can never remember the new coach's name.

But, truth is, Lombardi is really the only coach name that anyone needs to know.

10. Even though his current run is tarnishing his image, Joe Gibbs.
Won the Super Bowl with 3 different quarterbacks, different running backs. Like Walsh, changed the way the game is played.

17. Lombardi's a legend - in our time Bill Wash is head and shoulders above
the rest - he turned a perennial losing 49'er team into a winning dynasty. Having Joe Montana, the greatest QB to have ever played the game didn't hurt, but Walsh was the genius behind it all.

21. George Halas
The Father of Pro Football. VL is the most overrated name in pro sports. He won a couple of super bowls then died a few years later. They named the Super Bowl trophy after him 3 months after he died.

Chuck Noll and Bill Walsh have both won twice as many Super Bowls as Vince and Papa won like 8 NFL championships, the last being in '63 just a few years before the first SB.

Papa also was an All-pro player, won the Rose Bowl as a player, played RF for the Yankees immediately before Ruth, served his country in TWO World Wars, helped found the NFL, coached more HOFers than anybody else, and won the most NFL championships of any coach.
