I just got word my friend Kelley in Thailand is OK
I am *SO* relieved!! I emailed her a couple days ago, realizing how pointeless it probably was...I just heard from a mutual friend that she'd text messaged him, telling him to tell all of us she was alright, although in a very devastated area (Phuket).

Just wanted to share...I feel SO much better knowing she's ok. :)

9. I *think* it's like "Poo-ket"
or some such, although I of course being Butthead's doppleganger always pronounce it that way. :D

HNY to you, Night Train. :)

4. I'm really glad for you..
I emailed my exboyfriend in Koh Samui and haven't heard back yet.. I don't think the area was that hardly hit, but he travelled to Koh Phi Phi a lot, so I don't know what's going on with him.

15. Wonder if she ought to have every right to proudly wear one of those
shirts reading "I SURVIVED THE GREAT EARTHQUAKE / TSUNAMI OF 2004."

By the way, I couldn't imagine anyone in New York wearing one reading "I SURVIVED THE "TERRORIST EMERGENCY" OF 09 -11- 2001."

17. The good news is very welcome. I have stopped
watching TV because it breaks my heart to see and hear the stories. Seeing bodies in trucks and parents carrying dead children finally got to me. It is a nightmare.

It really did suck...as bad as it might sound, I'd rather know bad news than no news. Happily it was good news instead. :)
