I AM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!
Just got back from a concert I've been waiting MONTHS for. Wasn't worth the wait, nor the money.

Every year a local station here in Salt Lake City puts on a concert called the Big Ass Show. They bring in popular bands that they play on their station. This year I went for only TWO bands, AFI and The Used. So I got my ticket ($25.00) and went. Waiting TWO FUCKING hours in the line and finally got in. After scoping the booths we decided to go listen to Eve 6 until AFI took the stage (which would of been on the other side of the park after Eve 6 ended their set). So we walk over and stand. And stand. And stand for like an hour and a half. Finally we're told Eve 6 is on their way, they got tied up and that AFI would not PLAY until Eve 6 finished their set. So I was cool with that, not a fan of Eve 6 but would sit around and listen. So finally they get there and play their set - alright it was ok, nothing major. So I walk over to where AFI is playing - and I see they're already ON STAGE. So we work our way up to the front by the moshpit and RIGHT as we finally find a place we hear "THANKS SALT LAKE CITY YOU'VE BEEN GREAT!" Are you FUCKING kidding me? I waited THREE MONTHS, SPENT $25 and STOOD in the fucking heat to hear one damn song from this band? I don't blame AFI, I blame Eve 6. Pisses me off because I had been SET on seeing them.

ARG, and they wouldn't refund our money. :(

3. A Moshpit is
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 10:23 PM by alexwcovington
the area in a concert closest to the band, where fans dance to the music primarily by jumping up and down or "moshing"

:P amateur lexicography

2. That sucks.
Ouch. I feel your pain. I would have been really pissed too, I am not a fan of Eve 6 but seeing The Used would have been cool.

5. I saw the Used and that was cool.
But still doesn't make up for missing AFI. I guess I wasn't the only pissed person because when Burt (singer from The Used) was talking about Eve 6 the crowd started chanting FUCK EVE 6.

7. Again AFI and The Used are good.
NO clue why Eve 6 were there. I thought they died out after their one hit in the 90s.......before they became 'hard-core'.

11. Actually
They had that graduation song a few years ago, and now they have a song that I think is called "Think Twice" playing on mainstream. I personally can't stand them. :puke:

12. So is it a new song every two years?
And do they tend to change their look every two years as well? :bounce:

17. I'm glad my daughter didn't go...
She opted out after a group called 'Less Than Jake' cancelled. She can't stand Eve 6, either. Her and her friends were planning to scour the garbages outside the fairpark for the belts that they make the kids remove--I'm glad they didn't. She went to a concert last night and got pretty beat up in the mosh pit (sore muscles, nothing really serious). I'm not very comfortable with my daughter getting in the mosh pits. Too bad about your experience. That's a lot of money to pay to miss your favorite act. BTW, did you see the Dean booth there?

19. I looked, but it wasn't there.
Too bad, cause there were a lot of anti-Bush shirts there and I'm sure a lot of those people didn't have a clue who Howard Dean was.

18. i have a good "I missed AFI" story.
me and one of my dumb buddies decided that we were going to drive from pittsburgh to cincinnatti to see AFI, well...here goes.

we leave my house around 8:30 am, or something like that, it may have been 7:30, i don't remember that very well...

we get going and everything's going great, we're excited, we're nearing the home stretch, 50 miles from cincinnatti, THE FUCKING EXHAUST PIPE FALLS OFF MY FRIENDS PIECE OF SHIT HONDA CIVIC! so it drags, for 50 miles till we get to coney island to the show, and there it sits till it cools down enough for us to just rip off.

we go to the show, i don't remember what time we got there, its not a big deal, regardless, we watch some badass bands. Tsunami Bomb was great, Thrice was okay, Refused was cool.

we miss AFI somehow.

i don't really care, cause I've hated AFI ever since Art of Drowning, but my friend is like, beside himself. so i said "fuck it dude, let's go home"

so we do, with no exhaust, 350 miles back to pittsburgh. he kept saying "i feel like a goddamned criminal." the whole way back home.

i LOVED it.
