4. The Kansas Cheifs were an AFL Team in 1965
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 08:37 AM by VermontDem2004
I said which NFL Team drafted Joe Namath. I clearly pointed out that he didn't play for team because he left them to join the AFL. Guess again.

5. Cleveland
I'm just guessing as they were the first two teams on Monday Night Football so I figured there was some "life is a circle" coincidence thing going on there. IF the Browns were in the AFL by that point too I'll change my guess to the Washington Generals.

7. Nope
Cleveland was in the NFL at that point, but as far as I know, I don't think there was ever a franchise called the Washington Generals, but if there was, there was no such franchise in 1965.

11. He wasn't drafted by the Rams
That trivia thing is incorrect. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2002/ones/ARI.html scroll down to 1965, I found this answer in my Arizona Media Guide years ago, The Arizona Sports Report on Fox Sports asked the question and immediately I knew the answer because of my cardinals media guide, sent them the email with the correct answer and I wasn't the first one to answer correctly, they did announce it was the Cardinals that drafted them. Also if you don't believe the first link, NFL.com is highly reputable, check out ESPN.com

In the draft, Namath was not only selected in the first round by the New York Jets (with the No. 4 pick) in the AFL, but also was a first-round choice of the NFL's St. Louis Cardinals (No. 12).

8. He was drafted by an NFL Team
What you said could be true, but he never even practiced with the team because he opted to play in the AFL.

12. Uh they were in the second of their three (or 4?)home cities at that point
Not in the (I know your favorite baseball team) city they are in now.

BTW that technically in a twisted sort of way makes my second guess correct.

19. I didn't say you were wrong about Rams
starting in Cleveland, I didn't even know you were trying to make that point. The internet only lies depending on where you go, (ex. The truth is at Democratic Underground, The lies are at Free Republic)

BTW- the Washington generals reference above was a joke. They are the losingest team in sports history. They play all of their games against the Harlem Globetrotters.
