Who else is staying home on New Year's Eve?
I'd just rather be warm and dry, snug in my own home with a nice fire going. Every other year I've gone out to parties and/or the bars, but this year it's time to stay in.

Any other Stay-at-Homes out there?

23. I'm staying home

For the first time in 15 years, I don't have a gig on New Year's Eve. I could have but no one offered the kind of money the gig should pay, so the group decided to sit this one out.

I am going to sleep, sleep, sleep on the 31st. I am leaving town Jan 2 for LA to mix an album I just finished recording and it's a LONG drive from Oklahoma, so I want to be well rested before I head out.

45. i suggest anybody who goes should wear a "Depends"
if you want a good spot you have to get there in the afternoon..then you stand for ((((hours))) waiting in the freezing cold (usually). Once you get your choice spot, if you leave to find someplace to use the bathroom (which is NOT easy) you can't get back to where you were to begin with. FINALLY midnight comes and the countdown happens and the confetti and stuff falls from the building and that is cool. then it is over and then you can barhop which I dont do that much anymore. I am sure it is fun for some but once is enough for me! The year I went was the year 9/11 happened so it was interesting. Seriously though, people recommended that people wear an adult diaper to this event.

The Princess and I had our first official date on December 31, 1991. I took two trains and a bus to get to her town, and she made spaghetti & meatballs.

We'll probably stay home this New Year's Eve like we always do - it's safer to stay off the roads on Amateur Night.

watching videos. Maybe "burning" some old habits and remembering those that have gone on.

I ran cocktails in Vegas casinos for 8 years. That's 8 Thanksgivings, 8 Chrismases, and 8 New Years Eves; always swing or grave.

I don't do New Years. I've had enough of obnoxious and demanding drunks to last my lifetime.

Blech.

I haven't been out on New Year's Eve since the NYE before I met my husband (that would have been '96 turning '97).

We like being in our own house on NYE, although it would be fun sometime to go to one of those swanky, fancy shindigs and then stay in a hotel. That'll have to wait until the kids are older. In the meantime, we watch movies, play games, eat appetizers and junk food, and stay up late to watch the ball drop.
