1. best line..
"This is also the first year that Muslim students from the Al-Jannah Islamic school have been invited to participate; two of their students presented a project on human anatomy entitled "Allah (SWT) Created Me" which, while it was found ineligible for a prize due to a number of Biblical inconsistencies, did win a special Interfaith Outreach ribbon."

2. You infidel

Of particular interest is the bit about women being designed for domestic labor.

4. Sadly enough, I don't think it's satire.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 01:07 PM by stuckinlucky
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd love to believe it's a joke.

(ON EDIT) Nope, they got me. Further inspection reveals CafePress merchandising link. Somehow, I don't think real Christians would sell thong panties with their logo. Very well done, though.

I also think Uncle Steve may, in fact, be a monkey.

5. It is satire
Unfortunately, it's based on the all-too-real knuckledraggers who have hijacked so many religions and the GOP.

6. DEFINITELY a satire!
Check out the "Reclaiming Halloween" link on their homepage if you don't believe me. :-)

12. Hold up
Its an old trick in the spoof game. I know some people that make spoof sites and its an old trick to target another spoof site. Its a game between them. I don't know this site so I can't say for sure but the Women Designed for Housework bit is just a bit too far over the top. I smell spoof.

9. Difficult to tell
There are a number of xian spoof sites out there. This site preports to oppose Landover Baptists, the most known spoof site. But the details do not ring true. It could simply be another spoof site.

The reason for the satire comment is that the link I suspect this was found through was the http://www.infidels.org/wire/index.shtml which refered to this as satire. Whether its a xian satire or a apostate satire I am not sure.

7. definitely not a joke
Another "objective" of this site is to shutdown landoverbaptist.com, an actual christian parody site.

These suckas are for real.

13. Nah...
Landover's the competition, and a lot funnier.

I'm sure they hook a lot of fundies, but they can't be for real if they're selling the "Marry Me" thong.

"While in the supermarket shopping for food for my cat..." and being duped by a cult-- too precious. Brilliant, in tis own way, but precious.

Even the little John the Baptist gif is a clue, one of very few. Haven't checked out the music on Zounds, but I suspect it's not quite as "Christian" as they proffer.

A really well-baited hook. Could have some fun showing it to your fundie acquaintances.

Bookmarked it for future use.

8. hmm... maybe it is satire
Edited on Tue Jul-15-03 01:03 PM by gambrinus
on further inspection it does seem to be satire. I think it's probably a little TOO tongue-in-cheek, if you ask me. Far too close to the truth to incite laughter, on my part at least. Better to read betty bowers.

And enjoy kooky stuff, the Institute for Creation Science Museum is right off the 67 freeway 2 miles north of I-8 and a must-see:

16. "My Uncle is a Man ...(not a monkey) tipped the scales toward satire
1st Place: "My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)"
Cassidy Turnbull (grade 5) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

Cassidy Turnbull and her uncle, Steve, who is not a monkey according to Cassidy's research.

15. Very funny
Although it might give some creationists ideas to enter into real science fairs...

Interestingly enough, at the fair I judged at in Indianapolis this past March, four of the six entrants in the Engineering category were either home-schooled or at a Christian academy, and did quite well.
