I'm Back from Shoveling My Driveway
20 inches of white stuff atop 40 feet of driveway. Took two generic Aleve during a break a couple of hours ago...I don't feel too bad! My back muscles are a little sore, but not as bad as during the break. I suppose this chore counts as a poor man's cardiac stress test as well. Glad to report that - aside from a little shortness of breath after pouring the coals to it - I didn't have any chest pains or other disturbing symptoms.

It's down to the concrete all the way to the street, even though the city hasn't seen fit to send a grader down my street yet. At least I can get out now if necessary, but I'm settled in for the evening. My wife's fixing chili as we speak, and I'm a mellow fellow!

7. The Risk Lies in Long-Term Usage
Like 10 years, I think the report said. I'm reluctant to take any medication - even over-the-counter ones - unless something is unbearable. I don't take naproxen more than probably 5 times a year.

11. Good. All that shoveling gave you unbearable pain huh.
I can only imagine what it would do to my back. Hurts just thinking about it.

3. Just finished ours and our elderly neighbor's
about two hours ago. We only got 1/2 the snow you did, about 10" - 12" or so. We didn't have 40 feet of driveway, either, more like 15 feet. Our city never plows, so goodness knows what this place will look like over the next couple days.

We rewarded ourselves with local hamburgers that should be off limits before, during and after snow shoveling due to fat content alone. But they were really good and we haven't keeled over yet. :-)

6. I got about 12 inches and 120ft driveway
went out at ten,, came in about 2. I did the street in front of my house too so when the plow comes through I wont have to go back out and shovel the end again. I came in and took 3 acetaminophen and codeine tablets and got started making cookies. Now the pineapple upside down cake is in the oven and all I have left to do is a cheesecake. I think I'm going to make an eggnog one. It should be about 9 when I'll be able to mellow and if taking the lid off the hot tub and putting it back on after wasn't such a pain in the ass, I'd go take a soak later tonight. Instead, I'll probably just run a bath and have Calgone take me away.

12. You need a really nice neighbor
When we get snow, I have a really nice neighbor that brings his snowblower over to clear my drive and sidewalks. His reward his homemade cinnamon rolls.
Thankfully the storm missed Iowa this time around. I'm sure our time will come.
