I'm here to spread the word---Velveeta Fudge
I know some would call this sacrilegious at the holy alter of all that is chocolate at this time of year. But it is the only reason to buy the yellow hunk of death (aka-Velveeta) IMO.

This stuff is actually good and can be doubled if you want more.

Velveeta Fudge

1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese

1/2 lb. butter

Melt cheese and margarine in Micro Wave ( not the highest setting). Make sure it is melted...

SIFT:

2 lbs. powered sugar

1/2 Cup Cocoa powder

Pour the cheese/margarine over the sifted ingredients and stir, stir, stir (I use the kitchen aid)

ADD:

1 Tbs. Vanilla

1 Cup walnuts...I add more nuts

POUR: onto parchment lined greased cookie sheet and cool. Cut into squares and freeze!

1. Are you quite sure...?
I guess the processed cheese food substance replaces cream cheese in this instance?

2. I have made this
Family has pronounced it good. It's very creamy. I was skeptical at first as well. My SO is a fudgeaholic and I didn't tell him what was in it my first go around with this recipe because I knew he would turn up his nose--but he too has been converted.

Now I wouldn't go so far to say that it is the best fudge recipe-but it is quick easy and very tasty. I like it with lots of nuts.

3. is it cheesy tasting at all? it's hard to believe that the
Velveeta taste totally disappears with a little cocoa and sugar...

6. No Cheesey taste at all
Further Proof that chocolate cures all. There is a bit of a tang to the fudge but it is not unpleasant at all. Some believe the cheese cuts the sweetness which allows the chocolate flavor to become more pronounced.

4. If it's chocoholic-approved...
I shall try it then. I'm usually a purist when it comes to chocolate, but hey, life's short, and I'm game...!

Thanks for the recipe! :)

5. Yellow Hunk of Death?
You'd better take that scurrilous remark back ... I used to live in Chico, CA.

And not one word about Rice Cakes, either.

--p!
Oh, yeah ... cool recipe ... I have to try it ...

7. I'll try it!
I've made every sort of fudge -- but not this variety.
