Photo of my Grandmother dated 1926
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 12:35 PM by XNASA
Just got through scanning a few old photos and thought this one was interesting. It's my Grandmother (who we've always referred to as 'Nanny') as a young girl in South Bend, Indiana, dressed for a school play.

1. It's cute.
But the hat? Makes me wonder when the cylinder stocking came into vogue.

2. That is really cool.
I love old photos and have them of my Mom and Dad when they were kids, my grandparents, great-grandparents, and even great-great grandparents all over my house.

3. That's cool
Do you have any idea what she was playing? It's an interesting costume.
I got to scan a lot of old photos about 2 years ago. I went to my grandmother's and she brought out a bunch that I have never seen. I took my scanner and laptop over there and scanned a bunch of them. I also got some from the other side of the family and made some copies and put them in to frames.
My favorite is an 8x10 of my grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather somewhere in New York city in about 1920.

4. Don't know....
But the photo is dated June 6th, 1926, which rules out Christmas.

5. Wow, your Grandma's much younger than mine (warning:big picture!)
Here's a picture of mine from around 1920. I'm not sure of the exact date.

8. She's only 39 years older than I am.

So let's see, she's 88 now. Which makes her about 10 in the picture.

BTW, your Grandmother is very beautiful.

9. Here's mine from early 1919. That bulge in Granny's tummy is Mom.

10. I love old pictures
I am the oldest grandchild on my mom's side so I have several of the family heirlooms. The oldest pic I have is of my Great Great Grandmother. It is a tin type. I am not sure exactly when the picture was taken but I have the copper bracelets she was wearing in the photo and they were patented March 19, 1872
