Otter Pops?

SOteric mentioned Otter Pops on another thread recently, and I was reminded of it when I saw this story in the Times:

Otters have also been affected by the heat, according to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth. The animals spent the weekend staring mournfully at the children’s ice lollies as they got increasingly hot and bothered, Jane Wharmby, the manager, said.

“They seemed to be very interested in what the kids were eating and in trying some of it themselves,” she added.

When the keeper, Mat Clarke, could stand their pestering no longer he fashioned fishflavoured ice lollies for them, using cardboard coffee cups as moulds and mackerel heads for taste.

Mmmm... Mackerely.

They had an interview with the keeper on Radio 4 this morning.

Now there's a flavor I hadn't thought of. Mackerel. MMMmmmm. Tasty. Did it cool the otters down?
