7. It is too risky
but can we make a no risk bet, the only reward is the satisfaction that you are right?

15. hey nothing would please me more than to see the cubs in the world series
but i know the cubs too well by now. i saw that you were excited about giving away $50 by betting that the cubs and red sox will be in the world series and i was all too willing to accept.

the cubs have been shattering my heart by stomping on it with their spikes since 1969. 1984 just added insult to injury. by the time 1989 rolled around, they couldn't fool me any more.

hey i'm a lifetime cub fan so i don't want to bet against the poor bastards.....unless there's money involved.

2. I have been a cubs fan for 40 years
I think they can win the division, but what I worry about the most is they have always choked in playoff games.

3. I hate to tell you how young I was at the 45 World Series!
and I still have my 84 playoff T-shirt where they won the first 2 games of 5, and then lost 3.

It is not easy being a Cub fan!

4. Yea the series against San Diego was a heart breaker
First time I went to Wrigley was in 69 when Ken Holtzman pitched a no hitter against the Braves. Ron Santo hit a three run homerun in the first for the only runs scored in that game.

9. Just remember that the Reds are 18 games out of 1st place.
It's not like they are a strong team this year.

12. They might win the Division.
But I don't think they'll get passed the first round since they'll have to play either the Giants or the Braves.

I've been a Cub's fan for 40 years, but I don't really expect them to win the Series in my lifetime. If they ever won, it would ruin the mystique of the Cubs. I know that sounds weird but, the game's not played that way in the Friendly Confines.
