Who WAS Parson Brown and why did he hang out in the meadow?
in the middle of a snowstorm?

The original Jack the Ripper?

Why was he so worried about people being married?

What is a Parson?

Was this "Winter Wonderland" a figment of a drug induced stupor? Who answers a Parson with "No MAN"?

Anyone?

6. Pason Brown did not actually hang out in the meadow.
In fact, he was not there at all, which is why the couple in question had a to build a snowman to represent the good parson.

People only answer parsons with "No, man" if they are trying to get it to rhyme with "snowman."

I don't think Parson Brown was particularly *worried* about people being married, but because it was his job to marry people, it would be a natural question to ask: "Did you build this snowman replica of me because you want to get married or because you're just strange little people?"

I hope that helps.

12. Well, I'm not sure...
but at one point they said something about a "circus clown" and "we'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman," indicating a possible sadistic abuse of an innocent snowman.

8. They built a snowman they pretended was Parson Brown
A Parson is a person that can conduct religious worship
...is allowed to by the church. They can also perform weddings and other such rites. Vicar, etc.

Hence, Parsonage...where said person lives.

Perhaps a town parson would ask a couple frolicking in a meadow if they were married...if he was worried about their souls. lol

Perhaps the songwriters guilt was coming through...

The "No-man" is a play on snowman.

Fuck, I dunno :)
