Life sucks.
I wonder how fast I have to drive my truck into a wall in order to kill me and not just put me in a chair...

3. I wouldn't risk it
It's surprising how survivable bad car crashes can be - or not.

What seems to be the problem?

6. Why?
Would it make a difference or would you want to go for a target first?

I'm probably older than you are, I've seen a lot and my profile is open to anyone who wants to talk honestly and openly.

You have a problem with honesty?

9. I hear you.
I have been there. Often am, as a matter of fact.

There is always something to look forward to. Even if it is something arbitrary like a night out with pals, it is well worth it. The scars on my wrists make me realize how swept up my mind can get in situations.

I hate to reiterate the old line, but it is a "permanent solution to a temporary problem."

You can get some average man counsel from fellow DU'ers if you would answer thier question. I'm sure many of them would have relevant suggestions.

10. Yes it does. But it is only temporary. It will pass.
Believe this.

We all go thru the shit times. Invariably, the bad times are a prelude to the very good times.

Know that for every door that seems to close, three have opened. You only have to make yourself see them, and when you do walk thru them...

Life may suck now, but let it go. Stay in life, because if you persevere, you will know happiness.

Believe it.

16. a friend tried it twice, it does NOT work
It is too risky. You might not even end up in a chair but you will end up in more debt with more chronic pain and it is just not an effective way to deal with your problems. My friend can still walk but her insides are effed up and she can't have kids... it's just a mess. She has paranoid schizophrenia that is not controlled by medication so that's why. If it's really that bad, it's better to go for psych hospitalization first, even though they don't keep you that long anymore, at least they'll probably hold you long enough for the worst urges to pass.

You may not be that bad off and just want to vent, which is cool but we've had some scares lately.

Let us know what is going on, and we can try to brainstorm ideas to help.

18. Get help
You need counseling. I went thru the same thing you are going thru and eventually drove thru a red light at 90 mph but veered away from traffic when my "oh shit I'll end up killing them" instinct kicked in. Get help, get it soon.

Best of luck to ya.

19. Hi Ripley
I just got off the phone with a counselor because the moderators called me about this, and we're worried about you. They told me to ask you to give them a call, because basically they're pros and they're really good at this stuff - they can definitely help you out. The number's the same one posted earlier in this thread: 1-800-784-2433

Please give them a call and let us know how you get on.

Thanks,
EG (Admin)

20. 783 MPH
your truck won't go that fast, so you might as well stick around.

If life really did suck, you'd be having more orgasms.

I'm trying for levity - when I was very young and in grumpy moods, my best friend used to say, "I bet if you smiled your face would just break and fall off your head."

Always made me smile. That's a good place to start.

I can't offer advice if I don't know the problem, sorry.

27. Hi again Ripley
Hope you're doing okay. I hope you got a chance to call that number if you needed it, or that you've been able to talk to someone. We're going to lock this thread now because I don't think there will be any mods on constantly throughout the night to keep an eye on it. But I want you to know that we're with you, and I'll be in touch with you later today just to check in.

Once again, please call that number if you need to. They know what they're doing.

Take care,
EG
