Anyone believe in fate?
A weird thing happened to me last night, wonder if you all think its just a bizarre coincidence or if its some fate type thing.

I went to see a christmas play with two of my friends. And while we're waiting for the play to start, for some reason they started talkin about my ex-girlfriend who I haven't seen since we broke up about 5 years ago(and we rarely ever even mention her, so its odd in itself). Well they're talkin trash about her, and I'm tryin to be kinda nice, cuz she wasn't all that bad.

Well right after the play, we get up to leave, and right in front of me is my ex. She was sitting in the seat directly in front of us the whole time and no one noticed, she must have heard everything we said.

We were all kinda stunned and I just said Hi, and that it was nice to see her again, and left....strange days indeed.

1. Sure
Actually things like that have happened a lot to me. But then again I don't believe in "coincidence". Yeah even though science doesn't explain it and it's not rational views into the future are pretty common. Luckily we have labeled it esoteria so it can be disqualified, but I guess you've found out that it's possible.

2. My personal favorite
quotation in regards to this matter, comes from a very wise person.

When asked, "Do you believe in fate or free will?"

He responded, "On a good day I believe in free will. On a bad day I believe in fate."

It's both silly.

As to the sychronicity of your ex overhearing the entirety of your conversation, it was probably good for her. Given that others, not you trashed her entirely.

Think of the bigger picture.

3. even weirder is something like this happened with her once before...
i was getting ready to move out of state, and was on my last day of work...well my job involves me traveling from movie theatre to movie theatre doing inspections...well it turns out she just got a job at one of the theatres, and i ran into her there...this was about 7 years ago...about a week after the incident we started dating again for another year and a half or so.

5. I believe one is destined to believe or not believe in fate.
But then again, it could all be coincidence.

6. I believe I'm doomed... is that the same as fate?
Doomed... doomed as doomed can be.

8. I think someone in YOUR party
saw her in front and didn't let on. That someONE had an axe to grind and did it within earshot of the ex girlfriend.

I DO believe in fate, but I don't think that particular incident was fate.

just my 2cents.

:)
