Pet peeves
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 03:43 PM by mvd
We haven't done this in a while, and it's always fun. Here are some of my pet peeves:

Good actresses who think they should be singers too (Lindsay Lohan has potential, but Speak is an average effort that wasn't worth it. I'm glad I listened more before I bought it. I like pop, but won't accept everything. Her songs should have been more like the Freaky Friday soundtrack.)

Good singers who think they should be actresses too (Madonna)

Music critics in general (they have a right to their opinion, but since I often don't follow them, their reviews should be written better or they aren't even worth it for the entertainment.)

Bees and mosquitos

The RIAA

Telemarketers

New drug commercials on TV

Rude people

Product activation in electronic things

The electricity going out

**Republicans are too big to be pet peeves!**

Have you seen "Glitter"? :scared:

Apostrophes where they don't belong. Here is an example from my apartment complex. "There have been several auto's broken into recently."

People running through stoplights after it turns red.

People going through the 10 items or less line with more than 10 items. A lady recently went through in front of me with 52. Yes, I did stand there and count them.

OK, seriously... it's those stupid spam mails that 'friends' send you about Jesus and good friends and whatnot. That stuff drives me nuts.

Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 04:01 PM by mvd
I'm not saying she has the most powerful voice, but she has a great clarity and beauty that not everyone else has.

I just don't agree with you.

14. Well, I think I have a good ear, too
People who have good ears can still disagree.

Another pet peeve of mine is the music snob, but as long as they don't push opinions on me, I'm fine with letting them be. :hi:

21. People who come to a full stop at the bottom of an escalator
and just stand there, letting a crowd of people fall over each other behind them. This happens all the time on subway escalators during rush hour.

22. not using turn signals...
and people who pass me, only to turn 1/4 mile down the road. You couldn't wait a minute? JEEBUS!

girls in the library who talk to their friends on their cell phones about "what am i going to wear to the Sig Tau party?" (as a girl it bugs me to no end when 'chicks' do this. that and getting "all ho'ed up" to get wasted) Call me anti-social but have some respect for yourself, girls!

not turning off the lights/fan/oven when not in use. Same goes for not shutting cabinet doors after they've been opened and stuff has been gotten out.

Glad to get that off my chest.

23. So many peeves so little time
In no particular order:

People who spit when they talk
Teenagers who use "like ummm" between actual words
Ordering mayo on my sandwich and getting miracle whip (barf)
Using a a public women's bathroom and the seat is wet. (How BIG does the hole in the seat have to be?!)
Waitresses who call me "honey"
Bagboys who call me "ma'am"
Seams in socks
Wet towels on the floor
Pubic hair in the bar of soap
Pubic hair on the toilet rim
Pubic hair in the bathtub
Crumbs in the butter
Pubic hair in the butter (never actually had that one...but it would bother me)
When my husband drives my car and doesn't move the seat back
Damp mildewy clothes left in the washing machine
People who put their feet on the back of my seat at movies
People who talk on their cellphones EVERYWHERE!
People who don't pull to the forward pump at the gas station.
People who cough on you
That cotton wad in the motrin bottle
Childproof caps
Near beer
New coke
Anything made by Ron Popeil
Infomercials
When I go through the drive through, place my order and I say "That's all" and they keep asking me if I want to try the newest crap on the menu.
Telemarketers
