John Stewart on Bill Moyers
Did anyone see the interview of John Stewart by Bill Moyers on PBS
I saw it yesterday, and I about fell off my chair laughing so hard
I wish I had cable so I could see the comedy show by John Stewart,
he raked bush over the coals,
he had guv bush and bush in the whitehouse debating,
and guv bush said some interesting things on the campaign trail,
like how he would never invade another country, and would not be a bully in the world.
While bush whitehouse said something totally opposite
it was hilarious.

1. Yeah...
Too bad the only really strident criticism of the GWB Administration on television comes from a half hour news satire show on Comedy Central that only devotes about six minutes to news bites.

6. Too bad the only really strident criticism of the GWB Adm...
Yeah, it's a sad commentary that I get most of my
news from the Daily Show.

But criticism and dissent are more
acceptable to the masses and the powers that be
if they're cloaked within fiction or comedy.

Rod Serling knew that; Jon Stewart knows that.

It's less painful; people get less defensive,
less fearful at the horrible truth.

Stewart's show and discourse are a slow steady
drip drip drip. He's wisely insuring his survival
by keeping things quasi "light," and by hosting
a wide cross section of guests, from progressives
to goose-steppers.

He's truly a light in the darkness.

5. Two of my favorite reporters on the dame show
Two of my favorite reporters on the dame show... I couldn't believe it.

Jon Stewart is the only place we get our news on TV... My favorite segment was the one where he staes his news show is at a disadvantage because it is fake and there fore it has about equal credibility with conventional news.

Larry Klayman was also on that segment and bashed Bush ... how weird

10. I LOVED all of it
(I've only read transcripts) but I loved the parts where he was describing two of the Dem. candidates. (Disclosure: I'm a Dean supporter.)

Kerry: "Like Al Gore, but without the charisma"

Dean: (paraphasing) "He reminds you of the sausage guy."

I laughed so hard tears were running down my eyes.
