As early as first grade I was told... I talk to much
DU lets me just keep that trend going. Thanks to you all!

(Not sure if I should do a happy dance, or hang my head for shame over how much I have said - some of it undoubtedly rather pointlessly - since first starting to post at DU....) :D

1. Not only...
Do you talk a lot, but you do it so well, too. One of the best here.

And no, I am not trying to pitch woo at you. ;-)

2. Ah... flattery
will get you ... an ear full - at least from a big time talkaholic such as myself!

Hey.. can I pretend you were pitching woo even if you weren't? Took a little bit of an ego hit this weekend. Certainly nothing huge - but a little flattery helps make the irritating sting away :D

5. Look here, Baybuh!
If some twerp done you wrong, I suggest an interesting juxtaposition between your right foot, traveling at its highest rate of speed and his procreative nodules.

Lemme tell you: It WILL be therapeutic. For you. For him? Clinical efficacy has not been established, however the adverse ractions section is chock-a-block full. ;-)

4. While I wasn't held back
It was a constant theme through my gradeschool report cards.

Luckily we have both harnessed our natural socialness into the good fight against mind-numbing media gop promotion. :highfive:!

12. same here!
My grandmother used to tell me at the tender young age of 6, that I would get "Lauringytis" (A play on my name) from talking too much. :D

I have also heard all my life how LOUD I am. :-)

though I only know you through a "silent" medium - you do, at times, project a little volume ;-) Lauringytis... that's cute. Gonna have to store that one away.

In second grade I was put back by the sink in the rear of the class. A snide neighbor reminded me of that regularly through high school!

15. Good for you, motor-mouth!
I've always envied people who talk alot. My husband is one such person; he's never at a loss for words. He can talk to anybody. Sometimes, he'll be on the phone for three hours, just talking to a friend.(Or a relative, or a distant relative, or an almost-acquaintance, etc.) I've never talked much; mostly because of shyness, but also because I can never think of that much to say. (I only have a big mouth when I'm writing). Anyway, keep it up. Us quiet people need people like you to fill in those uncomfortable silences!

20. Nah... we talkers
need thoughtful quiet folks (those whose writings demonstrate a great deal of thought and verbal (written) ease) to sparking our minds in new directions - which then gives us new things to talk about. I think the difference (along with shyness) is that for many talkers (or at least for myself) is that we think "outloud" - makes us more talkative - but also sometimes doesn't give us that mental screen that says... "maybe I shouldn't say that right at this point..." Ah - but those situations then give us something new to talk about in the future!

*ducks flying objects being hurled from Bloomington* Sorry I couldn't resist the little rib re- the header.

Cheer up...you don't talk NEAR as much as me :D and you make more sense...in fact, I shall crawl under a rock in deep despair the day you shut up.

:toast: ((((((HUGS)))))))

22. rotfl - I didn't even catch that
*hurling red and white signed basketballs from bloomington at nsma*

Debatable, in my mind, that I make more sense. Can pretty much take to the bank, however, that you make a few more cents than I ;-) .

Don't go lookng for any rocks - I don't think I am likely to shut up anytime soon.

Thanks!

((((((hugs backatya))))))

i can't get any work done. :-)

i admire your ability to stay calm and respectful of others.

thank you for being here and being you.

"talks too much"

OR

"disrupts class"

So I know what you mean, Salin. :) But I bet you couldn't have guessed that about me, right? ;-)

28. salin: OH, so you got this too?? Welcome to the club!! I got my mouth...
....taped shut a couple of times in grade school after being labled a "chatter box". I was also labled "too opininated because I had this liberal (moderate to conservative at DU) set of opinions from early childhood on.

DU has given me a chance to chatter away (not necessarily saying anything of value) but nonetheless chatter away and become much more knowledgable as to what goes on behind the scenes in my government.

I AM SO HAPPY TO KNOW that I am not alone in being a lifelong chatter box. You just made my day!!! :bounce:
