Free agent Jeff George signed a one-year contract to return to the NFL, ESPN.com has learned. Financial details were not immediately available, but it is anticipated that the contract is for the league minimum of $760,000, prorated over the final five games of this season. The deal came after George huddled much of Saturday with Bears coaches and team officials.

The Bears are expected to announce the signing Monday.

George, 36, has not played since early in the 2001 season, when he started the first two games for the Washington Redskins before being benched and subsequently released by coach Marty Schottenheimer.

Granted though, he can't be any worse than Quinn is.

3. Krenzel is gone with a sprained ankle

Quinn is (hopefully) on perminent bench duty, and Chad Hutchinson (Cowboy reject) is starting now.

The problem is that they came into the season gambling that Grossman wasn't going to get injured. They never expected to play Quinn (a career clip-board holder) or Krenzel, which, in my opinion, is a shitty way to run a football team.

The only reason George was given a look is because he's freinds with Wade Wilson, who is the Bears QB coach now.

Terry Shay sucks so far as an Offensive Corordinator. At least when Priest went down, the Chiefs had Blaylock to fill in.
