Davis-Gore "No Recall" rally.
Just rebroadcast on C-Span.
I'm not in favor of the recall, but lordy, I don't think I've ever seen two stiffer, forced-enthusiasm, ill-at-ease, why-am-I-here? guys. They kinda remind me of Don Knotts in one of his Mr. Milquetoast rolls.

Yeah, I think Gore won. No, I don't think we'd be in the deep doodoo we're in if he'd been allowed to take office. Maybe he has good days and not-so-good days. A couple of times I've seen him when he genuinely seemed to have the fire in his belly, but mostly not.

Of all the current crop, Dean does seem to have it on a consistent basis.
OK, go ahead.
Whip my ass.
;-)

1. keep in mind that 'fire in the belly'
is FAR more useful as a candidate that as a president.

besides, did bush EVER display 'fire in the belly' as a candidate? no, he displayed 'sedatives in the belly' and 'alcohol in the belly', but no 'fire in the belly'.
