Stupid brother-in-law true story

From my sister: My BIL is a teeth grinder at night. A couple nights ago he chewed a nice gash into the inside of his cheek. His solution to the problem? He rinsed his mouth out with... here it comes... BLEACH. Result: the entire inside of his mouth and his gums are now infected.

True story. You simply can not make shit like that up!

I don't see how bleach would cause an infection. Are they sure the infection didn't come from something else?

Bleach is usually a germ killer... But using it as a mouthwash might very well cause tissue damage that later got infected, I guess....
