Mission statement: This is a place where people can narrate their weird (or even dull) dreams, talk about it, and analyze until the cows come home.

2. Cool Idea...

I'm not so much into "analyzing" them for meaning or predictive value... that's a bunch of magical-thinking hooey. But logging them for the fun of sharing our weird thoughts with others is a fun idea.

11. That's Exactly What I'd Be Interested In...

Dreams of black cats living in your attic and basement could be "interpreted" by others as having a personal hatred of cats, or having a love of cats, or just being afraid of critters invading the house.

All three might be wrong, but it would still be fun to read the dreams themselves and to find out how the dreamer feels about their own dreams (or what's going on in their life that's similar).

I'd lose interest quickly if the group were to focus on interpretations along the lines of: "black cats mean a death in your family", or "animals in the attic indicate that you'll lose your money", or "the basement is a symbol great fortune".

If the WOO-WOO's took it over, then I'd bail out.

with something saying, "If you wish for others to provide analysis or not to provide analysis please indicate so in your original post."

I'm with you in that I don't believe that dreams have any predictive value, but I think that they can indicators of what is going on in a person's life.

I don't think it's realistic from people to post their dreams on an Internet forum and expect that people DON'T talk about it.

Plain vanilla DU rules should suffice IMHO.

I think dreams are interesting. I usually don't remember a lot of my dreams, but lately I've been able to recall quite a few. My subconscious seems to want to have a chat with me. I could dig reading about other's dreams and trying to give insight into them.

7. I like the idea

You know what would be really cool, would be if some night a whole bunch of us had similar dreams at the same time -- a kind of collective of the dream world. For example, last night Idreamed I was swimming and swimming and swimming in a very long narrow swimming pool. So what if a bunch of us dreamed of swimming on the same night? Implications could be cool.
