We hit Chi-town 3 or 4 times a year. Just wondering if there's anything special going ont hat we shouldn't miss. This time we're planning on seeing the Museum of Suregery and Science of Inducrury's exhibit on filmmaking. Any other obscure things going on?

2. Been there tons of times.
In fact, been there at their old location. But thanks for the suggestion. I like the Green Mill these days more. (More into jazzz than blues).

7. My grandparents met at the Green Mill
Back in the Capone days.

Having a drink there feels really weird to me. 'Course I still jump at the chance...

4. Thanks. Never heard of it.
We'll look into it. We're always lookking into obsucre, off-the-wall things to\ do. We've done almost everything mainstream there is to do.

10. That's my home town!
I hope you have a great time! The Field museum is my favorite, I could spend days there, if they had a room to rent me, I'd live there. I'll be headed down to the city Dec. 5th for the Bears vs Vikings game, I can't wait! Be sure to post all the highlights of the trip, so I can convince my boyfriend that Chicago is not such a bad place to live or at least visit more often...(he was interning on the South side when we met, and it has permanently turned him off to living in Chicago! Either that, or it was my family.)

HAVE FUN!!!!!!

11. Dress warm.
There's snow.

If you've never visited Graceland Cemetary, you might enjoy it if you like that kind of thing. Many of Chicago's famous are buried there, and you can just drive through and look around on your way to someplace else (like Green Mill). It's just north of Cubs Park, at Clark and Montrose.

You can see why people don't often ask me for tourist advice. Have fun whatever you do! :hi:

12. I must be a jaded Chicago tourist!
I did that last summer. My friend who lives there takes us around. And we live in Michigan so we know what cold is. Thank you for all your tips!

16. Cool!
I had relatives in last month and took them up to Devon Avenue so they could see how the population changes from Hasidic Jews to Muslims to Hindus to Koreans and more. On the weekend people swarm around like there aren't even cars in the street. Was anyone out that day? No!! Oh well. We were on our way up to the Botanic Garden in Glencoe. It's really beautiful.

Have your friends taken you to Uncle Fun's? It's a craptacular world of wonder! Toys, vintage stuff, imports, old warehouse buyouts, real nostalgia, fake nostalgia...great for Christmas shopping.

13. Graceland is a beautiful cemetery!
Another beautiful cemetery is the Bohemian National, it has some of the most eerie and whimsical grave markers and statues I have seen.

14. I ***love*** Bohemian National!
Have you gone inside the chapel or whatever that building is (on search, I see it's called a columbarium) and seen all the displays for the cremation urns? It is a trip! What a great setting it would make for a movie.

17. Chicago Historical Society
At Clark and North. The best-kept-secret museum ever. Where else can you see the bed Lincoln died in? With the bloodstains still on the pillow. And Mary Todd Lincoln's blood-spattered gown (you have to look close; it's purple). And the first electric bass guitar. And George Washington's inauguration suit.

It changes every month or two, but all kinds of neat historical stuff. They have, I think, 17 million pieces, so the vast majority is in storage at any given time, but I live across the street from the place and it never fails to amaze.
