Poll question: Was your Thanksgiving ruined by the fact that Junior stayed home?

"U.S. President George W. Bush calls troops on Thanksgiving from his ranch in Crawford, Texas November 25, 2004. Bush signed a record $401.3 billion defense bill earlier on Monday that includes a 4.15 percent raise for troops as the Iraq (news - web sites) occupation puts increasing strain on soldiers and their families. Since Bush declared major combat over in Iraq last May 1, some 185 soldiers have died as guerrilla attacks have escalated. REUTERS/White House/Tina Hager/handout"

3. Turkey is as turkey does
I have friends in the Army, and I remember them telling me all about his turkey day visit last year. Remember, when he just showed up in Iraq unannounced for a photo op?

As it turns out, the only troops invited to the event were upper echilon repukes and their minions. No dems or free thinkers allowed. The rest of the troops had to wait over six hours for the photo op to end so they could feast on the leftovers.

My friend is a 2nd leutennant in the Air Corps and he said most of his regiment just gave up and grubbed up on turkey and rice c-rations.
