3. If they're such patriots
how come I only see 5 million 'murkin flags? They could have done a lot better than that. Fuckin' commies. :silly:

13. Me too
Hopefully you felt the same as I did seeing the damage gun control can do. Otherwise the warning was for those that approve of gun control and don't want to see its result.

15. I guess that depends on what you mean by "gun control"
Taking all guns out of the hands of all people--hm, I don't think many people at all here advocate that. Some might, but they're in the minority.

Making sure that guns are licensed and registered, and that people are held accountable for crimes committed with their weapons--that's a smart move. You can bet your ass that if one of my children is a victim of some gun owned by her playmate's parents, if I can't sue them due to some restriction, I'm going to fucking kill them. And I'm going to enjoy it.

10. Take away a man's ability to defend himself and you can oppress him
I agree, but we're the minority around here. Search the GD archives for a post a did several months ago called "Why the Left Should Oppose Gun Control".

Their signs say "We support our troops and our President" (sic)

Around here, all the SUVs say "We support OUR PRESIDENT and the troops".

The so-called BARBARA BUSH LITERACY BASH is where they burn books like Harry Potter, I think.

16. ah yes! all that "wizardry"
is corrupting our youth! At my last job, the boss and his wife both went to a church that rejected Harry Potter books for that reason. Also, the employees were not allowed to dress up on Halloween. What is it with these people?

17. I have an even better story
My parents have these fundamentalist friends. They have two kids, a boy and a girl. They ban their children from reading Harry Potter books because they promote "witchcraft". Although, a couple of years ago when the boy was 8 he got beat up at school for wearing a Barney T-shirt.

18. why the hell was an 8-y-old wearing a barney shirt?
Hell, i'd instruct my two girls to beat up any kid doing that!

The thing with HP-banners: most of them have never read it themselves. They do what their church tells them to. Must. Not. Think. Could. Be. Sinful.
