OK I'll start!:
I am so thankful for the ability to love.
I am so thankful for being alive after so many have died!
I am so thankful for roast duck with orange sause!
I am so thankful for my freinds and family!
I am so thankful I can be an outragious liberal and not be arrested for it!

2. The American Dream
I was talking the other day with another DUer in chat and was remembering how my Mom told us about growing up in poverty on a farm in the middle of nowhere. No electricity, no indoor plumbing, the only phone was a crank phone that wasn't converted until the 70's, no car - they either got a ride with a neighbor or drove the tractor. No medical or dental care - she had full dentures in her early 20's. Flash forward one generation - her daughters are all successful - college educated. My husband and I own our own business and after initial years of struggling are secure and comfortable. All 4 of our kids went to college - the youngest finishes her Masters this spring.

The opportunities in this country amaze me and I am very greatful to live here.

3. Me next!
I'm thankful for my kids who are healthy.
I'm thankful for my husband who doesn't quite understand my passion about politics but loves and supports me anyway.
I'm thankful that I have a job. It's only a contract with no benefits but it's a place to start. :)
I'm thankful that I can pay my bills.
I'm thankful for DU and the new friends I've made here.
I'm thankful for the Bill of Rights and the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
I'm thankful for college football.
I'm thankful that I was able to meet several Bama Democrats this year. Gives me hope that one day my home state may turn blue. :)
I'm thankful for my cat.
I'm thankful that I have a warm house and food to eat.

4. I give thanks for
My family who are wonderful and who have helped me tremendously during the last year of turmoil.

My friends, ditto.

My son, who makes me laugh (mostly at myself) every day.

My dogs, who love me so unconditionally it's remarkable.

My job, which I just learned is slightly more secure than I'd hoped because my boss got $3M more in grants.

DU

My community, which has turned bluer each year since I've moved here.

My state, PA, which is blue too.

Good food, good wine, good conversation.

An education which has opened my eyes and my mind to new possibilities.

The fact that I grew up poor so that I'm able to tighten my belt these days without feeling deprived.

DU activism.

A sound mind and body.

Having been raised by good people with good values so that I'll never be tempted to drink the kool-aid.

My niece and nephew (3-2yrs old respectively) they are like rechargers for the soul.

The cultural and other resources which are at my fingertips both virtually and literally.

Chocolate.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
