14. I sang Beatles songs instead of nursery rhymes
I didn't know many nursery rhymes, and Beatles songs were more fun anyway.

Except for my kid's penchant for tie-dye and somewhat uncanny knowledge of "Yellow Submarine," I haven't seen any ill effects.

18. I used to sing After Hours ( Velvets)
and Little Surfer girl. Who knew a maudlin Velvets song could be so lullaby-like?

Kids may cause you to forget everything you ever knew. And induce excessive distractibility. What was I saying? :)

27. I saw a NOVA special that explained why we tolerate them
He maintained that nature had given babies (of most mammalian species) round little heads with large, inviting eyes.. It triggers the nurturing part of our brains, and imprints us, so that we fall hopelessly in love with them.. In later years when they pull away and confront us, and thoroughly piss us off, those imprinted memories keeps us (well most of us ) from hurting them or tossing them out (like we threaten:), but never do:)..)
