Can we never be rid of Bob Greene?
Edited on Mon Nov-22-04 10:54 AM by AngryAmish
He is in the op-ed pages of the NY Times today.

This man is the worst writer in America today. He has been in hiding for two or more years after it became known that he seduced a high school girl who interviewed him for her high school paper. The rumor (in the papers) is he was always trying to do this to young gals. He was fired from the Chicago Tribune for these things.

Yet it was his lack of talent and originality that should have damned him years before. The man wrote terrible, saccharine columns and books.

The man has no place in public life. I am sure he could be a perfectly serviceable gas station attendant or perhaps a baker's assistant. But the man belongs nowhere near a newspaper.

2. Of legal age I seem to recall
In IL age of consent is 17. But it is pretty creepy that a middle aged man with a wife and child at home ("Good Morning Merry Sunshine") would do such a thing. If I recall correctly, the paper called it abuse of power.

3. Middle age men
with wife and kiddies at home hit on young women all the time. I can'r revile him for that.

4. Revile him for his lack of talent then

Really, his writing is a crime.

Edited to say: Just because things happen all the time does not mean that the acts themselves are not revulsive. I am in ealy middle age myself (36). It would be VERY creepy if I was out there trying to sleep with 17-18 year old gals.

6. Christ, another "lost innocence" sentimental papfest.
Greene picked up right where he left off.
