How pissed should I be? (minor rant)
I work part time at a local newspaper in the mail room five days a week to help me pay for school. Yesterday, I found out that one of the fucking dip shits that I work with who started the job 6 months after I did and works 2-3 days less a week than I do is getting paid more than I am.

Normally this would only piss me off a little but he has been talking shit that he is getting paid more than I am since he started and I never believed him until I looked at his check. What also pisses me off is that I asked my supervisor if he is getting paid more than I am and she lied to me and said that we are getting paid the same. I fucking hate being lied to.

He is only making 25 cents more an hour but the principle of it is what makes me the maddest. I have bills to! I'm starting a masters program in May and I need money!

What should I do?

2. best point of accountability
is asking why? Forget the accusatory tone, that will get you nowhere. Act innocent and nonaccusatory and ask what are the additional responsibilities that you would need to take on to get the same pay rate... the reason this is more effective than "fighting" is that a) you start with the assumption that you know he is getting paid more - and that the point is not up for questioning (which can be denied and end the conversation) - and keeps you in the light (from your superior's view) that you are eager to do what ever it takes. However the real message is that you know the other dude makes more per hour than you - and you expect to find out why - and do what it takes to get equal compensation.
