I spent my time in the Religion section. A lot of discussion of Catholisism which I couldn't understand. But there was something from Chuck Coulson that intrigued me enough to follow the thread.

Not all DUers are the polar opposite of freepers. I'll tell you why.

Coulson addressed a religious precept which I consider to be fundamental: Man was created in the image of G-d. He got very close to the meaning of this but moved on to pro-life, pro-family, blah, blah, blah. You can argue which came first man or G-d, but the significance of being in G-d's image remains the same. Man can show mercy, do justice, that's what differenciates us from other creatures.

Maybe we should spend more time visiting them. Could that help US convert THEM?

it's very easy to get banned over there.... I've read more than one account of someone who tried to adopt a mildly dissenting or middling viewpoint and got banned promptly.... YMMV, if you wanna go try to convert them, go for it.

I'm afriad you have to be holier than thou. I was onced approached by two christian proselytizers who asked about when bad things happen.

I replied that, by definition, G-d only does things for the good. But why do babies die, etc? G-d only does things for the good, it is our task to try to find the good.
