Anyone ever hang a "No Proselytising/Witnessing" sign on the door?
And if so, does it work?

Actually it simply states "NO CHRISTIANS!" and it's very effective.

2. That's a GREAT idea!
I usually just tell 'em that we're Satanists, and then tend to leave right away. Works on all of 'em: Mormons, witnesses, other fundies, etc.

3. No BUT we used to have a sign that said
No Soliciting - of any kind. We have BIG DOGS and they bite.

Worked like a charm! :)

4. YES
I PUT a sign on my door that read..
DO NOT EVEN THINK about KNOCKING ON MY DOOR if you were not invited, and I don't know you personally.. If you do, you are trespassing.

No one knocked.

8. Believe it or not.....
...I disconnected the doorbell ages ago and that takes care of most of the morons. Most unannounced visitors don't knock and assume the doorbell works, I guess.

When we do have pizza delivery or something else along those lines we have a handy sign that gets taped to the door explaining that the non-working doorbell is a trick to fool unwanted visitors and to please knock :) The sign is removed as soon as our pizza arrives. We've gotten some compliments and laughs from that sign :)

On the very rare occasion that an unwanted person does knock I have found that making strange sounds close to the door scares most of them away very quickly.

9. I just posted about this a while ago
Had the Southern Baptists knocking on my door this past Saturday, after telling them exactly what I think of their leading question they asked me "Do you want to go to Hell?" (I still have my Kerry signs up and my bumper stickers adorning my door). I stand there and stare at them for a few seconds then answer - "If it means I get away from psycho zealots like you, then sign me up" and slammed the door in their face. I did call through the door to get off my property before I turn my dog loose on them. They don't need to know my ferocious dog is a mini dachshund (he sounds big and tough).

I made this sign and put it outside:
"If you are here to attempt to convert me to any religion, turn around now or face the consequences."

The stunned look on their faces was pretty amusing though, but damnit, don't wake me up on my one day to sleep in superlate. Bastards.
