As a weight-lifter and runner, I need my carbs to give me energy.

family has a history of kidney disease so I don't even want to mess with them by protein-loading them...

If you want to loose weight do anything else.

Exercide, cut down on calories. Weight watchers, whatever.

Stay away from the low carb crap. It is NOT good for your body and leads to memory loss if followed for a prolonged period of time.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm um chunky ;) I'm on WW. I've lost 25 pds so far in a healthy way. I eat plenty of carbs, just low calorie foods.

I am a diabetic -- have to eat some, but not too many. And prefferably ones that break down slowly...

Note: According to my doctor, the original Weight Watcher's system is just the American Diabetes association diet, with a little public humiliation thrown in...
