4. Seeing as we can't have family here
(they are 1500 miles away), we plan on just the five of us. I mentioned somewhere else that last Thanksgiving I was extremely ill (I had an advanced kidney infection that took forever to diagnose and landed me in the emergency room three times), so we're hoping for a better experience this year.

I plan to make a turkey and all the trimmings (mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, gravy, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry orange relish, pumpkin bread, lefse, pumpkin pie, cranberry apple pie, whatever else my hub or kids can think of to request). We'll probably watch the parade and the football game and eat too much.

6. Yay! I don't have to find an excuse to avoid Thanksgiving Dinner
with the right-wing relatives from hell! They suffered so much damage from the last hurricane that they're postponing it this year!

I tell you, God DOES listen to prayers.

I get to cook my own turrrrrrkey and I'll baste it with the baaaaster and I'll stick it in the oooooven and eat my leftooooovers for the entire turkey holidaaaaaay.

7. Just the usual
Dinner with the folks.... family is complete republican (Only democrat in the family) but there is no politics at the table so that'll work well.. and even if there was I don't eat at the table anyway... I've never been a huge family gathering person so I've always ate in the living room away from family members since four. So just the usual family get together for turkey, tea, side dishes, and Thanksgiving Football game.

8. going to my parents'
for the weekend--and I'm taking my cat so he can play with my parents' pets. Thankfully, my ultra liberal aunt and grandma will be there to help me fend off my freeper dad.

10. Roast the Turkey over Charcoal On the Weber
Possibly the only thing I cook that I like better than the way Mom used to make it.
It comes out slightly smoked from the charcoal in the covered grill.

It's making my mouth water thinking about it.
