1. well, I can't donate at this time

but that's because I'm a poor student with -alas- bad credit, so I don't even have a bank account right now (yup, I'm online because parents allow it for me to study)

-sigh- I'm graduating soon so I hope to get a good job as soon as I can to donate here. I love this place.

I'm part of the day 1 donation club, too.

This site is quite the lifeline, especially in times where the media circumvent their duty to report on relevant matters, in order to remain inoffensive and loyal to those in power.

These may be the last days of free speech on the internet(s) - I heard a right-wing pundit mentioning something about "holding the bloggers accountable," a couple of days ago, and I'm pretty sure she didn't mean the Republican-leaning ones. If liberals are targetted as enemies of George W. Bush's idea of Democracy, you can be sure that the first thing these people will do is shut down all open forms of communication between us.

Let's do what we can to maintain the vibrancy of the internet by supporting sites like DU as much as possible, while we still can.
