May I vent for a moment?

Boy, I am finding it harder and harder to get out of bed these days.

Sun my husband took me out to eat and I won't say the name of the place (it is nationally known) and I got sick. It had to be food poisoning. I wanted to go to the hospital but he tells me that his HMO now demands that we phone this Call center and talk to a nurse who will determine if I am worthy of a visit to the emergency room. Because I could hold down water I was not able to go to the emergency room. I was told that since I could drink water I would not get dehydrated and therefore should not "waste the resources of the emergency room".

So I am limited to water all day Sunday (which yeah, I could stand to lose a few pounds BUT if I couldn't even hold down ginger ale then I say I have a small right to complain.)

During the afternoon I got a hold of an old friend who I swear was replaced by a Bushford supporter. The tone in her voice (talk to her on the phone) was soooo sugary that I thought my blood sugar would go up 100 points.

"President Bush, has been our greatest President ever. They really need to get rid of those term limits so he could be president longer". I wish I was kidding about this stuff-- I don't know who this person is anymore.

Was it so naive of me to believe in a place that was very progressive thinking. Where respect for all religions is second nature and where Carrying for your fellow citizens and your country is slightly more important then how you worship and why no one else worship as you do....

AHHHH If I was a rich girl I buy myself an island and invite everyone who believes in some of the things I do to come and live their....

And I think that we need to do something about the hmo's. Someone on the phone cant determine what type of treatment you need, we need to do more for the people being treated than the corporate pricks pocketbooks.
